About me

Sam Shogren Attending the Council of American Maritime Museums Meeting in LA

Archaeologist, Photographer, Museum Director, Writer, Historian. Chair - Pacific Northwest Maritime Heritage Council. Board Member - Traditional Small Craft Assoc.

There are many things I have been and done over the years. Yet there is always one unifying theme in my life: Water.

This site is dedicated to sharing my travels as a keeper of the past who is always looking to the future.

My hope is that you enjoy the stories, photos and things I have learned along the way and that you come to appreciate travel with a theme as I have.

Here you'll find me sharing both my own experiences and observations - while also sharing ideas and places I hope to explore in the future.

Perhaps these tales will help you approach your future travels with a new eye and perspective on what's possible, and revisit old destinations with a new purpose seeking new experiences.
